OWNER/MANAGING DIRECTOR

Ian is a Chartered Civil Engineer and formerly head of Structural Engineering Section at the London Borough of Enfield, Ian took over RCA Structures in 2002.

Since then Ian has successfully secured many new clients, most notably Vinci Facilities Plc, and has added over thirty steel fabricators and well over 1,000 building contractors, architects and householders to our client base.

CARINA SILVA

M.ENG.

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

Carina has been with RCA Structures since 2015, after completing her Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering by the prestigious University of Minho, Portugal. She also studied abroad, at Politechnika Wroclawska, Poland.

Since starting at RCA Structures, Carina has been working on domestic refurbishment projects and new developments, including all the design and detailing. Carina also works on Structural steelwork design, working with many steel fabricators, developing designs/solutions for balconies, balustrades, canopies, lift shafts, frames, staircases, and steel connections.

Notable Projects

• Royal Wharf – Balconies and Balustrades on 11 storey high buildings

• Clarendon Road – A mixture of plant enclosures, balustrades, balconies & staircases all spread over the buildings on site

RICCARDO RAMONDETTI

C.Eng. M.I.C.E., M.Eng.

SENIOR ENGINEER

Riccardo is a Chartered Civil Engineer and has been a Practicing Structural Engineer for over 30 years. Riccardo obtained his Masters degree in Structural engineering in 1995 with honours and has been working for RCA Structures since January 2026.

Riccardo is an experienced structural engineer who worked on numerous projects in Italy and in the UK, designing multistorey buildings in seismic zones in Italy in CLT (Cross Laminated Timber), concrete, masonry and steel.

Riccardo has experience designing glulam structures in a glulam factory in Italy, and his experience includes the design of car and pedestrian bridges.

NATASHA ADKINS

STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Natasha joined RCA Structures in June 2008 after finishing her 'A' Levels at Leventhorpe School in Sawbridgeworth.  She attended Harlow College to learn to AutoCAD in 2007/2008 and received a City and Guilds Level 2 – 2D AutoCAD Certificate. On joining RCA Natasha studied Civil Engineering at Chelmsford College and received a Higher National Certificate with a Double Grade Distinction in June 2010.

Natasha now carries out designs of domestic refurbishments and large scale re-modelling of clients houses.

JAKE SYMMS

STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Jake joined RCA in 2021 as a graduate engineer. Jake studied Civil & Structural Engineering at Coventry University graduating in 2020. Jake has integrated quickly into the RCA team working on a variety of domestic projects.

CRAIG WILSON

STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Craig studied a Civil & Structural Engineering BEng degree at Anglia Ruskin University Chelmsford and graduated in 2024. He Joined RCA in February 2025 and is currently working on domestic refurbishment projects and extensions including all of the design and detailing.
